CHAPEL OFFERING Thank you to Rev. Voigt for leading us in chapel this week. The chapel offering is for the fourth quarter the chapel offering will be for Vacation Bible School at St. John’s the week of June 24 - 28. Chapel will be held at church until the end of the school year. Feel free to join us for our chapel services each Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. Abi S. will lead us in worship next week.
REMINDER If you know of any families interested in our PS – 8 program, encourage them to stop by the school to pick up an application for the 2013-14 school year.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Before Thursday June 6th: ALL TUITION MUST BE PAID; text books and library books have to be returned to the school; fines and fees must be paid. GREEN POLO SHIRTS need to be returned to the school after May 23. There will be a $20.00 charge per shirt if they are not returned. Each child was given one at the beginning of the school year. Please wash them before bringing them in to the office, and pin your child’s name to the shirts.
HELP WANTED: We are looking for someone to be our hot lunch server beginning in September. Please contact Mrs. Schalk if you are interested.
FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM FRIDAY is May 17th. Wear something from your favorite sports team!
FANTAZIA CIRCUS is coming to the RCHS gym on Sunday, May 19 at 4:00 p.m. Free tickets for children 12 & under are available at the school office and at various local businesses.
LABEL CONTEST A labels Contest is going on now through May 21st at St. John Lutheran School.
FIELD DAY AT IMMANUEL, Alpena will be Tuesday, May 28. We need parent or grandparent volunteers to help out as judges for the field events, at the concession stand or at the candy stand in the school. Please sign up before May 8 in the school office, or call us at 734-3580. Check out the May 24 newsletter for more field day information. Remember, parents are responsible for transporting their children to Immanuel Lutheran School for field day. All children in grades K – 8 are expected to attend. St. John School will be closed that day.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Are you busy on June 3rd in the afternoon? If not, would you consider helping out at our A.R. Carnival? The children have been working so hard all year reading and taking tests that we want their reward to be a success. We need about 20 volunteers. If you can help out, talk to Mrs. V or let the office know.
SPRING BAND CONCERT There will be a Spring Concert held at Rogers City High School at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 20. Please make plans to attend and hear some of our students play!
DRESS CODE REMINDER Shoes must be worn at all times. No flip-flops or slippers are allowed to be worn in school. You may wear sandals without a back support. Shorts may be worn, but the length may not be shorter than 3 inches above the knee. Girls may wear sleeveless shirts, but no tank tops or spaghetti straps.
LIBRARY NEWS The last day to check out books was Wednesday, May 15. All library books must be returned by Wednesday, May 29.
BOOKS ARE FUN will be here on Tuesday, May 21. Please stop by the school to look over this month’s selection. Orders are tentatively scheduled to arrive on May 31.
